Home for a week now

I’ve been home for a week now and it’s been really good. I’ve seen a whole bunch of friends and family, gone on a mock search, had tracking practise, tomorrow I’m gonna go skiing since they have a storm warning in effect tonight. Instead of blathering though, I’ll just leave you with a picture of a moose print I saw today.

I also saw snowshoe hare, deer, what I think is fox, and lots of human tracks too, it was a good day.
Oh, and also, I’m here for another week or so , until April 9th ish and then I head to Papua New Guinea (c:

I went to see 300 tonight and had a really good rant to spew out, but instead I’m just gonna post some more pictures from OK City.

My car has a hidden secret

an iPod holder!

Bricktown, OK City’s “17th Avenue”

I guess he really does love that bar…

A cool street sign I saw while walking about

I finally got around to doing my laundry tonight and was greeted by this:

Oklahoma! Yeehaaa

This is the cowboy store outside the hotel, it seems like there is always one within walking distance.

Also, within walking distance was a games, biliards and playhouses store. Ironicially the playhouses all had “Display only do no playing” seems like a poor sales strategy if you ask me.

Did you notice the chain in the picture? Lower middle of the frame. Does a p;ayhouse really need to be chained down so it it isn’t stolen? And if someone comes prepared to steal a playhouse, don’t you think they’d be able to deal with a chain? I mean, it isn’t like kids are gonna walk by and say “Jimmy, you grab that end, I’ll grab this end and this baby’s ours!”

In other news, our plane is down for maintenance and thre is no crew in town so I have a lot of time on my hands… as if the pictures didn’t give that away (c:

Tulsa OK!

Tulsa Oklahoma ya hear? That’s right we’re in Tulsa these days and its a stunning blend of commercialism and midwestern mediocrity. So far it appears to be a low squat town with nothing much to define it from any other town in the USA. Its claimed to be a “mecca for the arts in Oklahoma” and also has some fairly spectacular arcitecture as well… it’s fair to say that I haven’t seen much evidence of this yet, though it’s also pretty fair to say that I haven’t been downtown yet either… I have been to both of the “Western Outfitters” near the hotel though and that was some shiney-belt-buckle goodness!

We’re getting a fair bit of work done and there are beautiful blue skies overhead with only a slight chill in the air… I think I’ll go for a walk.

Austin, for now

Hey all, I’m in Austin TX right now. My first task? Organize a move to Tulsa OK… so tomorrow I’ll find myself in Tulsa, yeeee haaa!
