Would you help out your family if you thought they were capable of big things? Of course you would. To TECTERRA, the community of innovators working to create new spatially powered technology is our family, and we’re proud to help them achieve their big goals.
We do this through a broad range of programs that start as small as some help to get to a trade-show, and range all the way up to significant funding for the creation and sale of innovative technology. These investments can make a big difference for companies who want to take a chance on their new technology, but might not have all the funding they need.
To explain the way our investment works, let me use an analogy. Let’s say you have a niece. She’s brilliant, and she wants to go to school. You see nothing but potential with your niece and you believe that she could even change the world.
The trouble is your niece can’t afford school all on her own. Without any financial support, her big ideas may die out and she could end up serving coffee and pie on the night shift at the local truck stop — there is nothing wrong with that, but it would be a waste of her tremendous potential.
One day she comes to you and is telling you about her big dreams, and her struggles in achieving them. So you decide to pay part of your niece’s tuition, the other half that she doesn’t have yet. Everyone knows that family and business don’t mix well and you’re not interested in making money off your niece, but she’s ambitious and proud and isn’t looking for charity — just a little help. So you tell her it’s an interest free loan, and she only pays you back when she succeeds, has a good job, and can afford to.
In this story, you’re doing what TECTERRA does. We see our investment support as that family-style loan. We are here to support innovators and growing companies, just like you would support your niece.
Of course, the outcome is incredible. Without giving up any part of her dream, your niece heads to school and achieves everything she hoped she would. In our world, it’s the same. Companies we support will keep their business and their ideas, but receive the support they need to do something big, something that could even change the world.
